     Sound Work

In 2016/18 Marc studied HND Music at Gloucestershire College. The program encompassed modules for live sound where planning, management, set up and execution for a series of live sound events were assessed. Key areas of learning include -

  • Control of small (Sound craft Signature 12) and large (Allen and Heath PA 20) analogue mixing desks encompassing all signal routing​​ and gain staging

  • Control of Small (Allen And Heath Qu-24) digital mixing desk

  • Sound re-inforcement set up and management 

  • Use of DI boxes and Mics including Radio Mics

  • Knowledge of Active and Passive PA systems

  • Stage Monitoring

  • Cabling and wiring

  • Application of creative and corrective signal processing (i.e EQ and EFX)  

        

Marc has also acquired other skills , from Qualsafe Awards, undertaking a Health and Safety in the workplace course (level 2)

 

Knowledge of key electronic skills including application of multimeter technology, soldering and wiring is evident and emerging.

      Venue Work

Marc has worked in various venues of various sizes and facilitated in various roles. Namingly, this has been in two 400 seat venues at University of Kent and The Electric Palace (Bridport) 

  

Key area of learning include: 

 

  • Use of ETC ION and Zero 88 

  • Use of DiGiCo desks 

  • Use of DMX Systems and patching 

  • Patching of Sound systems 

  • Use of LED Movers 

  • Use of AV technologies (Projectors, QLab and Powerpoint)  

  • Use Cinema projectionist system (Doremi)
